Anari 1 is a 1999 Hindi comedy film starring Govinda, Raveena Tandon and Simran. It is directed by Kuku Kohli and produced by Aruna Irani. The film is a remake of the 1991 Tamil film Chinna Thambi. The film was a commercial success and one of the highest grossing films of the year.

The film is about Raja (Govinda), a naive and gullible simpleton who works as a waiter in a hotel. He falls in love with Sapna (Raveena Tandon), who is looking for a rich prince charming. She mistakes him for Rahul (also Govinda), a wealthy businessman and the son of Raja's mentor K.K. (Kader Khan). Raja, Sapna and a garage owner Sattarbhai (Satish Shah) hatch a plan to kidnap Rahul and hold him for ransom, while Raja takes his place. However, things go wrong when Raja himself gets kidnapped and Rahul falls in love with Sona (Simran), K.K.'s daughter.
The film is full of hilarious situations, witty dialogues and comic performances by the lead actors. Govinda shines in his double role, showing his versatility as an actor and a dancer. Raveena Tandon and Simran are glamorous and charming as the female leads. Kader Khan, Aruna Irani, Satish Shah and Johnny Lever provide ample support as the supporting characters.
The film has a melodious soundtrack composed by Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen. The songs are sung by Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Jaspinder Narula.
