My landlord asked me to run a background check, which I did. We used TransUnion services, and when reviewing my background report, I discovered some fictitious criminal records. Despite knowing that mistakes like these happen, the landlord rejected my application, stating that he couldn't take a chance and rely only on my word. I can't rent a place right now because my application was turned down by everyone because of the reported problems. The information that I saw at https://consumerattorneys.com/article/transunion-background-check says that I have the option to dispute with TransUnion and have my report updated. How much time would it take to fix the report? I remain at my friend's house since I don't have anywhere to live, but I can't stay here for too long.
